Riviera dei Fiori Coastal Park receives the Italian Green Road Award

The Parco Costiero Riviera dei Fiori has received an important national recognition: the Italian Green Road Award, also known as the Oscar of Cycle Tourism. This award celebrates routes that combine sustainable mobility, technical excellence, and environmental care.

Managed by AMAIE Energia e Servizi, the cycling and walking path stands out as a model for slow tourism and respect for the landscape. The route stretches for 33 kilometers, from Ospedaletti to Imperia.
It follows the former coastal railway line. The path is one of the most scenic sections of the Tyrrhenian Cycle Route. This route is part of the ten national cycle routes promoted by the Italian Ministries of Infrastructure and Tourism.

Of these 33 kilometers, AMAIE Energia e Servizi directly manages 24, between Sanremo and San Lorenzo al Mare. The company ensures ongoing maintenance, cleanliness, safety, and dedicated services for residents and visitors, with special attention to family accessibility.

The award ceremony took place in Trieste, with the participation of Luca Lombardi, Regional Councillor for Tourism; Fabio Finamore, Vice President of AMAIE; Tiziana Ramoino, Member of the AMAIE Board of Directors; and Cinzia Malacrida, Manager of the Coastal Park. Their presence underlined the collective value of this achievement.

The recognition was granted by a jury of experts in tourism, sustainable mobility, and environmental issues, who praised the project’s quality, comprehensive green services, clear signage, accessibility, and strong scenic and cultural impact.

For AMAIE Energia e Servizi, this award represents an incentive to continue enhancing the local area and promoting sustainable mobility. The Riviera dei Fiori Coastal Park thus reaffirms itself as an outstanding infrastructure — one that attracts visitors, supports slow tourism, and strengthens the identity of the Ligurian Riviera.

Archeopedalata 2025 in Sanremo: event scheduled for Sunday 28 September

Sanremo is preparing to welcome Archeopedalata 2025, an event that brings together sport, culture and nature. In addition, it represents an important opportunity to enhance the local area. The event is scheduled for Sunday 28 September along the Parco Costiero della Riviera dei Fiori, the major cycle and pedestrian path created on the former railway line and now managed by AMAIE. In this setting, participants will enjoy a unique experience combining landscape and history. The event will in fact be a slow and evocative journey through archaeology, nature and sustainable mobility. For this reason, it stands out as a special opportunity to discover and promote the historical and environmental heritage of the Ponente ligure, cycling immersed in the beauty of the Riviera dei Fiori.

A route between archaeology and landscape

Archeopedalata is not a competition. It is a cycling experience open to everyone. The route takes participants on a journey to discover unique places, with stops at historical sites and areas of archaeological interest. In addition, guides and experts will be present along the route, sharing insights and stories about the territory. In this way, the day becomes not only a sporting activity but also a cultural experience. The event therefore represents an opportunity for learning and social interaction, allowing participants to experience the landscape in a different way and to share the journey with others. The ride will start at 9:30 am from Villa Romana della Foce in Sanremo (behind the cemetery) and will end at 12:30 pm at Grotta dell’Arma, a site of extraordinary historical and archaeological value.

Sustainability and community at the core

The Parco Costiero della Riviera dei Fiori is one of the most important symbols of sustainable regeneration in the Ponente ligure. Moreover, it represents a place where nature, history and social life come together. Archeopedalata 2025 strengthens this vocation. In fact, cycling becomes the ideal means to promote an environmentally conscious lifestyle. At the same time, it represents a model of soft mobility capable of combining tourism, wellbeing and respect for the territory. The ride is designed for everyone: families, enthusiasts and cyclists alike. In this way, each participant can experience the park at their own pace, turning the route into a true journey through local history and nature.

Practical information

Participation is free of charge and open to anyone using their own bicycle. For organisational reasons, mandatory registration is required by emailing: sabap-im-sv.comunicazione@cultura.gov.it.

In addition, during the same event, Amaie Energia e Servizi launched its new website. The platform is now more accessible, clear and interactive.Through these actions, the company strengthens its direct relationship with citizens, improves transparency and simplifies access to digital services. Over recent months, Amaie Energia e Servizi has also intensified its institutional communication. The company has expanded its presence on social media channels and introduced new digital tools. As a result, dialogue with the community becomes more immediate and effective. This milestone marks the first year of the mandate of the Board of Directors, characterised by numerous strategic projects.

Key activities implemented

Internal reorganisation: a process aimed at making the company stronger and better structured, enhancing managerial skills and ensuring increasingly transparent and verifiable management.

Launch of smart eco-islands: by summer 2026, smart eco-islands will cover municipal areas with higher population density and greater issues related to illegal waste dumping. The project, supported by PNRR funding, represents a profound change in service management. The first installations will start in Sanremo and will also extend to the municipalities of Santo Stefano al Mare and Terzorio. Citizens become key players in a separate waste collection system that is simpler, more modern and more participatory.

Incentives for virtuous municipalities: for the first time, an incentive system has been introduced for local administrations achieving significant results in separate waste collection, highlighting how sustainability must be a shared objective.

Investments in communication and control: information and digital tools have been strengthened, together with enhanced collaboration with institutions and the Municipal Police, to combat tariff evasion and illegal waste disposal.

A year of shared commitment for a more sustainable city

“This represents an important step towards the city of the future: more sustainable, innovative and environmentally conscious,” stated the President of Amaie Energia e Servizi, Sergio Tommasini. “We would like to thank the Bacino Sanremese, the shareholders, employees and partners for their support and collaboration. Thanks to this collective effort, we can look to the future with confidence and determination.”

Local administration supporting Amaie Energia in the renewal process

The Councillor of the Municipality of Sanremo, Ester Moscato, underlined: “The municipal administration supports this path of growth and renewal involving Amaie Energia e Servizi. The operational reorganisation makes the company more efficient, closer to citizens and more attentive to service quality. This vision requires modern and responsible waste management. Digital eco-islands represent one of the most promising directions for the future of our environmental system.”

Through these initiatives, Amaie Energia e Servizi confirms its role as a central player in the transition towards the management of public services that is increasingly innovative, sustainable and participatory.
